Franco Simini is Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Medical Informatics with the Universidad de la República, Uruguay. Simini authored the Perinatal Information System (SIP) developed for PAHO7WHO as a pioneer medical record system with networking and patient empowerment aspects. Impedance Tomography, Patient Monitoring Devices, Medical Data Privacy and Software Follow-up Systems are among his research interests. Active 2016 in Interdisciplinarity to foster new systems and devices for a better clinical care by means of Technology Transfer. Simini is UR member of SALUD.uy Counsel and holds a number of academic responsibilities, a few patents, over 100 publications and a similar number of thesis supervisions.
